Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 29, 2026
highlight2calendar is a Chrome extension that extracts event details from text you highlight on web pages and helps you add them to Google Calendar or Google Tasks.
Data We Collect
- Highlighted text: When you use the extension, the text you select is sent to our server for event extraction. This text is processed in real time and is not stored.
- Google account access: The extension uses Google OAuth to authenticate you. We request access to create events on your Google Calendar and tasks on your Google Tasks. We do not access, read, or store any existing calendar or task data.
- Browser locale and timezone: Your browser locale (e.g. "en-US") and timezone are sent with extraction requests to correctly interpret dates and times. These are not stored.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or browsing history.
- We do not track your activity across websites.
- We do not use cookies or analytics in the extension.
- We do not sell or share any data with third parties.
Third-Party Services
- Anthropic API: Selected text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for event extraction. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training.
- Google APIs: Calendar and Tasks APIs are used solely to create events and tasks you explicitly request.
- Vercel: Our backend is hosted on Vercel. Vercel's standard infrastructure logging may apply.
Data Retention
We do not store any user data. Text sent for extraction is processed in memory and discarded immediately after the response is returned.
Your Rights
Since we do not store personal data, there is nothing to delete or export. You can revoke Google account access at any time through your Google Account permissions.
